This piece comes early in the opera, and is part of the nightclub act. Eurydice sings this torch song while flirting her way around the audience, paying particular attention to the record executive. The composition has a jazz swing feel, but uses whole tone scales and augmented harmonies that are not common to jazz. It is scored for soprano solo with trombone, bass voice, and a chamber orchestra of four strings and four woodwinds. This piece was premiered at my faculty composition recital on September 8, 2007.
